One of my friends noticed that I often like to post art pieces on my Instagram so she told me about the Whyte Avenue Art Walk.
The outdoor art gallery of over 400 artists has been happening every year on a weekend since I was a baby! in 1995. Where have I been! I wish I knew it before. Glad I finally attended and wow my eyes were blown away by the unique creative art pieces. Next time I will break the bank and buy most of them to match with my house decorations haha
Other than observing their art work, I was also able to witness a live painting from scratch and a didgeridoo treatment, relaxation meditation plus a head & back massage. I also had the opportunity to converse with some of the artists on what inspired their interest into the art passion. At one point people mistaken me for a painter, haha Virgilio Pellegrini, the artist ended up by taking a picture of me to be the subject of his next work of art! I was most amazed by the art pieces with an African vibe. My favorite booth with Natalie Meyer. I really like the way she represented the melaninated woman beauty through her acrylic paints. Here are some of the pieces I captured and below is a video with some highlights, enjoy!
Thanks to my friend Qhawe for assisting with capturing.
