This past weekend there were many occasions that If I was able to divide myself in 4 I could have attended to all of them. I ended up going to something I don’t usually go to. A local sports event. The last time I watched a live soccer game was 3 months ago. Below is the proof, you can ask Allan Zebbie of the FC Edmonton team haha I didn’t go because I actively enjoy watching nor I have more knowledge about sports game. My reason was to support friends who were playing and yes it was also another occasion to see the Edmonton African community united! This was bigger than just a game! During the 3 days, the Africa Centre hosted their 10th annual All Africa Games which consisted of 16 teams. The games were for all ages from children up to adult player groups. Since it was a busy weekend, I could only make it on the third day, at the soccer finals. I honestly went because there was also food, clothing vendors, kids play zone and performances during the halftime. I was conversing with a friend who attended the days before and asked him how the Congolese and he answered ” They were too short to catch the ball in the air…? joke!” A little later I found myself cheering as if I was watching Lualua vs Ronaldo! Well, blame it on the excitement of the game, heart pounding with the suspense of not knowing which team would win. All of sudden the excitement slowed down, there was a controversy within the game.
